Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Brandon L. D. Kissinger of Redmond, WA has created an enhanced physical protection system for use during times of civil unrest.

The idea was born after watching various riot videos. Brandon observed several instances that could have been completely prevented if the police had an interlocking shield to prevent an officer from engaging in one-on-one combat. In one video, a 70-year-old man at a protest was pushed to the ground by an officer. He later died from a brain bleed after hitting his head on the ground. Brandon knew this could have been prevented. You can move a crowd without having to resort to lethal force. The Locked In Riot Shield is his solution.

As it stands now, law enforcement has a force continuum they are supposed to follow that slowly escalates to lethal force only if absolutely necessary. This invention can slow that escalation. It will become a vital tool in the protection of life and can be used by military, law enforcement, and the security industry. It can be used for crowd control, a mobile ballistic wall from gun fire, or to protect an injured person while medical teams work on them. It can be used as a team or individually.
